Join the Leduc community for the annual Terry Fox Run and help continue Terry Fox’s inspiring legacy of hope, courage, and determination in support of cancer research. Participants of all ages and abilities are welcome to take part. Whether you choose to run, walk, bike, or blade, this family-friendly event offers a fun and meaningful way to get active while supporting a great cause. The route is dog-friendly, so four-legged companions are welcome to join the journey too. After the run, stay and enjoy a charity BBQ and live entertainment on site while connecting with fellow community members. Join Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) for a free interactive workshop facilitated by the Rural Development Network that explores how welcoming newcomers strengthens community connection and wellbeing for everyone. Participants will: Examine common myths surrounding immigration Learn about immigration in our region Gain practical tools and resources to help create welcoming workplaces, organizations and communities Through a mix of knowledge sharing, discussion, and interactive activities, participants will have an opportunity to exchange ideas, recognize community strengths, and identify ways to foster belonging. Join us online for this two-session workshop, where parents and caregivers will explore the Gottman Institute’s five-step method for building children’s emotional intelligence. An In-Person Workshop for Parents & Caregivers Oh, the teen years… The mood swings, the eye rolls, the sudden tears — and that’s just us as parents! Join us for a one-day, in-person workshop designed to support you through the exciting, challenging, and sometimes overwhelming stage of parenting teens. Grounded in the insights from Psychology Canada’s Straight Talk About Teens, this session will help you better understand and connect with the growing adolescent in your life. What we’ll explore together: The teen brain – why they think and feel the way they do What really matters to teens How to keep a positive, connected relationship Effective ways to communicate (even during tough moments) Managing risky behaviors Fair and respectful discipline that works Whether you’re already parenting or caring for a teen or preparing for the years ahead, you’ll leave with practical tools, new perspectives, and maybe even a sense of relief—you’re not in this alone.
